Xperia Xzs overheating for no reason

Greetings, just want to know that is there any way for my phone not to just overheat by itself? For example, some times after turning the screen off and put it into my pocket, after 10 mins I start to feel a burn and when I take the phone out, it's burning hot but the phone is off. This also in a way drains my battery life from 100% to nearly hitting 34% every time.  Hope you can help to solve this problem. Thanks 😊

Hi @Greg96

Thanks for trying that out Slightly_smiling_Face

It is normal for the handset to feel warm, not hot, while performing certain tasks or running some apps for a long period of time, however, the other issues you have explained are definitely things we need to get resolved for you.

If it was the same in safe mode, I would advise trying a software repair using Xperia Companion to rule out any software issues with the phone.

If you still have these problems after the software repair, the next step would be to get in contact with your Local support so they can organize getting the phone in for assessment.

Good luck Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi @Greg96

Sorry to hear about that Slightly_frowning_Face

Can you test your phone in safe mode and see if you still experience the same issue?

Let me know Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi Chloe, sorry for the late reply. Yes I did test it in safe mode and gave it to run for a few minutes, it somehow still give out that small heat at the front and back of the device, mostly towards the back

Also forgot to mention, while testing it, the battery not only drops drastically but also the phone somehow goes into lock mode. For example, let's say I'm using lifelog when I'm cycling, and when I check my xperia device to see the the amount of time etc, the device freezes and goes into a black screen and when it starts to respond, it goes to the lock screen. Any idea why?

Best regards

Greg

Hi Chloe,

Thanks for getting back. I'll try performing the software repair first and will test it out for a few hours. Then I'll update you about it. Thanks again Slightly_smiling_Face

My XZs is reaching 47-57 celcuis while browsing only using Google Chrome... Not comfortable for the hand... I had done hard reset via phone and repair using xperia companion... Still, both remedies didnt resolve the heat issues.. Hope sony will release a fix soon...
