@jonas No problem for your late reply. Holidays most importent thing in the world Slightly_smiling_Face

Back to the problem Slightly_frowning_Face

The home situation did change because cable company helped me out, but dont ask me what they did because they would not say..to bad.

The policy at work is still up and it wont connect. I think it is because we have to make a choice to let it choice "Do not validate", in older Z3 it did the autoconnect. I cant put in the CA certification in because company wont give it to me (its a wifi channel for the navy ict departmend). Is it a idea just to change software to the one we use in the Z3 version??

Just to make it even more clear:

I try to connect, but it gives a error like password is wrong (wich is not) and then it says authentification problem.

The NFC read error is fixed, i think it was a sony software bugg thats gone now after a update Slightly_smiling_Face

Hope u this helps u a bit...

After the migration from my old Xperia Mini Pro to the new Xperia X Compact all wifi connections worked well. The company network got lost some weeks later due to a mistake. Reentering the user id and password, certificate to 'not validate' was possible but the connection did not work: authorization problem. After thinking about what changed since using the X, I reactivatd NFC. Bingo, the wifi connection could be established successfully. I turned off NFC and wifi still works. Don't know why there are dependencies between wifi and NFC. Seems to be an Android issue.

Hi @Everest, welcome to our forum and congratulations on your new Xperia X Compact! Slightly_smiling_Face

I'm glad to hear that you were able to connect to the Wi-Fi network you have at your work after enabling NFC. I have not heard about something similar before, but I will definitely take this into consideration if some other user(s) experience the same behaviour.

Thanks a lot for taking your time to share this information with me and have a great weekend! Slightly_smiling_Face

I had to do the annually reset of WiFi password. Same issue as last September: 'connect' button greyed out. The trick with the NFC does not work anymore. Have to say that the Android version has been migrated to 7.1.1 in the meantime. So I digged out my old Mini Pro with Android 4: password could be updated and the connction to the company network could be established.
Does anyone have a new workaround for this annoying issue?

Hi @Everest, sorry to hear about you not being able to connect to the Wi-Fi network at your job again. Slightly_frowning_Face

Have you made sure that you have selected either "Use system certificate" or "Do not validate" under "CA-certificate" when connecting to the Wi-Fi network? If there is missing information in one of the fields, the connect button will stay greyed out.

You can also check with the IT department at your work if they have made any changes regarding the Wi-Fi network.

Keep me posted!

recently we set up a password on our router,   now I cannot get the internet on my droid phone,  I went to settings and the connect button is greyed out so I won't let me try to connect to the internet.    I typed in the password but that doesn't make a difference,     I tried turning on the airplane mod and it turns off wifi so when I turn it back off it turns wifi back on.   I am a senior citizens so I don't understand alot so be specific    I checked for a certificate but don't see any      Not sure I know where to find things you are talking about so again be specific

Hi @jlwjla, welcome to our forum!

When you tap on the network and you want to connect, what options do you have available? Is it only showing the password field?

How many characters/digits is the password? If I remember correctly, it needs to be at least 8 characters/digits to be a "correct" password, so make sure that it's at least this long and if it's not change it and see if you are able to connect to the network again.

If you could also get back to me with which phone model and Android version that you have, that would be great. You can find this information in Settings > (System) > About phone.

Let me know how it goes and thank you in advance.
