Warranty issues

My phone screen stopped working a couple of weekends a go after 3 months of purchase. I have just received a message to say it is beyond economical repair and they have sent me a quote to exchange it at a cost of over er £400 ??? This sounds ludicrous....when is a warranty not a warranty?? No explanation has been given, no fault explained, so how can it simply fail and I am accountable for that?? Am I interpreting the quotation incorrectly and they are simply offering a device exchange up to the value?

I'm sorry to hear about the issue but this is a global user based forum, you should contact them again regarding warranty and what exactly are they going to do, if it's to replace the device or give you an exchange or if it'll cost you that much to get a new device, etc.

You might want to read the warranty statements from Sony before you take up contact with support again.

Being well informed gives you an advantage in discussions, even more so; if you're able to quote the warranty conditions when discussing repair or replacement your case will be very strong.
