Sony Xperia XZ Premium Update 47.1.A.5.51

Today I installed an update very happy (such a fool) thinking that it was going to solve the mobile data internet problem but to my surprise it make ig worst, now I can't even access to USSD codes and I really need it due to my provider uses these kind of codes to buy internet data, balance, etc....

I contacted online support (Esteban B) or (Estevan B) and I had no help at all, all the things he suggested I had already done, and the worst thing is they cut you with a message and offer no help at all and it is supposed that Sony warranty is worldwide but the thing that really pisses me off is the lack of responsibility they lunch a new software update so bad and they don't accept responsibility and try to fool us telling things like it mus be the speed of the WiFi if it is to slow it may cause some errors and stuff like that (I suppose 300 MB/S might be slow) another thing they should offer a downgrade in Sony PC Companion when this extreme errors happen instead of blaming 3rd parties. When is the next update coming? You need to fix a lot android oreo is just trash do not upgrade your phones do not ruin them. Thanks to this I'm forced to use another cellphone, what is the idea to buy a luxury phone if I can't use it, you really are a fu..ing geniuses, almost a thousand dollars just for the trash can.

Good job Sony keep going this way let's see how far you get this way.

Mine works just fine...always has...not sure if you have bad third party apps or a defective phone...why not send it in for repairs?

Also, the issues are not with Sony but with Google Oreo....so go to them and complain as loud as you do here and maybe Google will fix their OS. I do not thing Sony can fix what is built in to the OS.

The phone was working perfectly until the oreo upgrade, isn't Sony responsible for launching Oreo on their phones, aren't they responsible to review a new os before launch it to its custumers? , for what I know each company works on the new OS to be suitable for their devices, so who is responsible, Google? Did Google forced Sony to launch Oreo in the Xperia XZ Premium?

Also I looked for this sort of problems I'm going through with this phone and guess what, I found many costumers with the exact same problems, so who is responsible? You see this is not a 10 Dollar phone and even if it was a 10 Dollar phone they are responsible for launching a defective OS on their products and causing problems and money loss in my case since I use my phone to work and I travel a lot and of course mobile data is very important to me, and also this phone costs nearly a 1000 dollars, but you give me an idea I'll open a forum to sue them since we are many people that have been affected with this issue.

Just to end, also the Battery is draining faster than before, since this update.

Well the main problem is the internet mobile data I had to configure it manually, once done I started having bigger troubles with the WiFi.

I agree that Sony should test the new software. So let's say they test it on .... how many phones should they test it on....2, 10, 37????

So they test it and everything works OK for them the same as it does on my phone...then what? No OEM can test every 3rd party app on every phone they sell. It is the nature of the beast. Go to any cell phone forum...take your pick...and you will see the same complaints on all of them.

Remember though that the vast majority of people do not have these issues. There are millions of cell phones in use on various versions of Android. There are not millions of users complaining. Now I feel your pain. I do not know why so many work great while others do not. That is why people sell their phones and by from someone else. Then if they get one that works properly that is THE BEST phone in the world. Problem is...the other guy just did the same thing with your new phone and bought one from the company you now hate and his works GREAT and now Sony is the greatest company in the world. Luck of the draw. Guess you have to keep looking and trying. What else can you do?

We are not 1 or 10 or hundreds, I'm pretty sure we are thousands. Anyway,  how many cellphones should they test? The answer is Millions. How to do it? easily launching a beta, so the people that really want to upgrade and take the risk will do it and the rest will wait for a stable version.

Sony is a greatest company no doubt, as a person I have more rights than a company if a company sells me a defective product it is its due to give a solution like give me a new cellphone if the cellphone is defective, in this case the cellphone was working great until they launched a new OS, so its due is to fix it for all the people they screwed, not giving them a new brand cellphone but offering a solution, in this case of updates they must allow users to go back to the previous version of OS which was working great with the phone otherwise give each user a new cellphone as simple as that.

Blaming 3rd apps is so sad.

I've made a factory reset, fix problems with Sony Companion PC, and guess what the same problems still there. So don't blame 3rd apps for a OS issue.

You have to be a communist, socialist or populist to blame one's  mistakes to a 3rd party, so deplorable, shame on you,  defend a company which its due is to give quality products to its customers and give them solutions if they cause troubles, and you know this phone nearly costs a thousand dollars and even if it was a 10 dollar phone it is the responsibility of the company to sell good stuff to its customers and if for whatever reason the product is defective they must change it for a good one or give a refund, in case of software a downgrade must be available if users find it defective.

Sony is a great company but is far away to be the best.

I love technology I own products you not even dream about.

The only Sony products I own are the whole PlayStation Line even the PlayStation Surround Bar and The PlayStation 3D Display, a 65" Smart 3D 4K Tv XBR-65X900A, Muteki 7.4 HT-DDW8600,  Sony Walkman 16GB Bluetooth Waterproof NWZ-WS615, Sony Walkman High Resolution Audio 128GB NW-ZX2, Sony LED Light Bulb Speaker LSPX-100E26J, Sony VAIO VPC-F215FX/BI Laptop, Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY R800a, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium E6853, Sony Xperia XZ Premium G8141.

Yes they are good products but not the best and I own less Sony products than other companies products and of course every company has to provide good quality products and services to its customers as we don't receive their products for free, we pay for them and we expect them to work as intended and if they don't work they have to give us a solution it's in the law, good if you liked good if not the law is the law and everybody has to respect it whether you like it or not. Sony must give us a solution period.

I suggested and option to downgrade to previous OS in Sony PC Companion an easy solution for their mess and for sure their future mistakes.

It's a case of "IS THERE ANYBODY THERE?" Sony puts more time and effort into selling than it puts into after sales support. I recently was invited to email them regarding the great battery care fiasco and guess what? The response came that it could not deliver!! Rubbish service from a once great name. No wonder Panasonic, LG and the like are selling more tvs. 📺

You said it yourself...it is an OS issue...so stop blaming Sony and blame Google who makes Android and continues to add more "features" we do not need, and continues to bring out new versions whithout fixing the current versions.

I know it is frustrating but the fact is that many third party apps break things all the time! Just do some research and you will see this. You need to contact Sony Service for your country and demand a reapir or a new phone! This forum is manned by end users who are just trying to help others find solutions to their problems.

I do blame Sony, I don't think Google forced them to upgrade Sony devices to Android Oreo, am I wrong? Each company manage the new OS to work well on its devices features, also 3rd apps can interfere but what I meant is the same problems still happening with no 3rd apps installed, so I'm not just speaking only for me but for all of the people who has been affected by this issue, Sony has to offer a solution for all of us period.
