This can be one of your installed apps acting up, and you have to figure out which one it is. Start by uninstalling those apps you installed recently.
If the ads only appear in your internet browser, then it can be the sites your visiting are producing those ads.
Hi @Me-d74, welcome to our forum!
As @Quester mentioned, if the ads are only shown when you are browsing the Internet, you can try and clear the data for the Chrome application in your device.
Do note that this will delete any locally stored bookmarks and files that you have downloaded using Chrome.
To do that, go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > App info > Chrome > Storage > Manage space > Clear all data.
Let us know if that helps!
Hi, I'm having the same issues with ads. They are all pervading even when using the camera or trying to answer a call. I have the phone in safe mode and that has stopped them for now. I did go through all apps and all are trusted with none showing permission relating to ads that I can see. I have deleted almost all apps except factory reset, although they were all brought over from my previous phone (Huawei p9) and I had no issues at all there. I will take a screen shot next time and try posting it for you. I have only 2 more apps to delete and again I will keep you posted. Hopefully I can stop the ads. I'm at the point of not using this phone (xz premium) and going back to my p9.
Hi @Bunyipbait, welcome to the forum!
I do really hope that you are able to find the application that is causing these ads for you as it has to be very annoying not being able to use the camera or answering a call.
As it works fine in safe mode, it is related to one of your downloaded applications and even if they worked fine in your previous device, there could have been an update to the application and that is what is causing these ads to show up.
Keep us posted and if you find out what application it is, please post the name in case other users are experiencing the same behaviour!
So, after removing almost everything off the phone and still having the ads destroy my desire to use my phone (incidentally I have had 4 ads just getting to this point) I decided to try something I transferred all data and apps in their current version back to my Huawei p9. Guess what... No ads...do I tried something else, I borrowed a HTC phone and did the same thing .. No ads again ... At all. Definitely something to do with Sony and there software allowing ads. So.. First and last Sony phone for me. I have screenshot of the ads but not sure where to attach it
Do post the screenshots, if you are on a phone just go to Chrome's menu > scroll down > destop site > you should be able to post the screenshots.
Also, did you experienced the same in > safe mode ?
I had no ads in safe mode so definitely an app creating the problem. Using Firefox as I suspect it is actually a Chrome issue. Just don't understand why it is only on this phone? I have turned on /off all the privacy settings, disallowed ads etc but still they appear. Since disabling Chrome 2 days ago I have not received any ads but I have that before, seems going into safe mode for a short time and then back to normal stops the ads for a short time.... Wait and see I guess.
