After a few months and several firmware-updates of the router as well as my Xperia, I recently decided to give it a new try and switched back to the default router configuration (single SSID). Surprisingly the wifi connection works now without any drops! Unfortunately, I cannot say whether this is caused by the Oreo-Update (as I believe), one of the router-firmware updates or both or anything else. Anyway, it is a nice Christmas gift. Cheers!

Hi, I'm also facing the same problem. I've taken bug report already and uploaded it in G.Drive.
What to do next?

Dear Sony,
My XZ1X compact won't connect to my wifi. I have ran a bug report. Can you please look into this issue as a matter of urgency as i am now using my data usage. I have included the bug report below.

Yes, I also experience this. I thought it was my home router. But have found actually it happens on all WiFi networks. Very annoying. WiFi stays connected but Internet connection drops.

Can't just go around changing every router channel in every place I visit. 😂 There has to be a better fix.

It is not ideal at all. But that is what we're left with after paying top dollar for a phone . Standards seem to be slipping @SONY corp. Or R&D budgets cut shorter ¿🙃 not good
