When connecting to USB audio in my 2017 Mazda 3, the phone pops a dialogd box with three radio buttons (charge, transfer data and I forget the third one). You can't actually select any of them or hit cancel. The box then just cycles on and off. You can't listen to audio though the connection and it's not clear whether the phone is actually charging. Bluetooth still works, so I used that instead, but other Android phones (and iPhones) functioned properly with the USB connection.
