Z5 Phone Stuck - Certain Keys on Keyboard Don't Work

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping this communitty can help me.

My the E, D, S, and Z keys on my keyboard stopped working. I tried using the PC Companion to do a software repair to see if starting factory fresh would help, but I cannot get past the screen in PC Companion where you hold the volume down key and plug the phone in. The phone just starts like normal and the application does not advance.

Any suggesions?

Thanks,

-matt

Could you test the touchscreen?

Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test touchscreen.

@uliwooly thanks for the quick reply. The touch screen works fine as far as I can tell.

I was able to get through a reset (but not the software repair) so it is now looking to be setup. This would be fine except I can't enter the letters I need to complete the start up info.

Ha, somewhere along the line the accessibility navigation got turned on so I have to deal with the select then double click to navigate.

Hi uliwooly,

Sorry, I was using the Xperia Companion software and using the repair utility.

Thanks,

Nope. when I get to the step where you connect the phone and hold the volume down button, the phone starts normally and the application never advances.

Could it be another key I have to hold before connecting it to the computer?
