Xperia Z3 Dual Suddenly Dead

Following a recent system upgrade to my Sony Xperia Z3, the battery started running down quickly, then most recently the Bluetooth suddenly switched off whilst on a call and within an hour the phone shut down and will not switch back on.
I have had the battery replaced and all that happens when you turn on the phone is that "Sony Xperia" flashes on the screen then the phone goes dead. If the battery lead is disconnected and reconnected it does the same thing. I have consulted with a few phone repair shops and they have all said that they believe the problem is due to the system update.

The Xperia Companion does not seem to work because it will not recognise the phone when it is connected. The reset option using the On and volume  down buttons does nothing or even the reset button next to the sim card slot.

I have had the phone for 16 months and have had no previous problems and it has not been dropped or damaged in any way.

Up to you, but do let us know if you are going to answer the above questions, I don't want to assume but perhaps you did contacted your Local support and they realized that there was something wrong with the phone due to user or perhaps you went to a different place to repair the phone and after that your Local support said they can't do anything as the warranty is no longer valid since it has been tampered with, whatever the reason, do let us know if you are willing to let us help you.

Keep in mind that this is a global user based forum.

Uliwooly, Please note that my Xperia has been well looked after and is in pristine condition i.e it looks brand new and it has not been tampered. You need to admit that there are issues with the Xperia Z3 for it have developed this so-called motherboard problem that has been suggested.

@GForce1059

I won't admit something as I don't know what wast hee finding on the Sony support center Local support

On a side note I have a Z3 and I have not encountered this issue, again, did you contacted your Local support or a third party repair center?

What was the finding of your Local support IFF (iff = if and only if) you took it to a Local support aka official Sony repair center?

As the phone is no longer under warranty, and I am prepared to pay Sony Support to inspect it, I took it to a third party repair centre who says it's a motherboard issue. I thought the Xperia Z3 was fantastic before this issue and it was well looked after i.e never dropped or exposed to anything adverse. As such, I can only put it down to being unreliable for this to happen so soon. I will just buy a replacement phone rather than paying for this to be repaired as the same problem may re-occur.

I meant to say I am not prepared to pay Sony Support to inspect it.
