Xperia P output jack NOT working!

Whenever I connect my headphones to my phone the audio simply plays through the speaker of the phone rather than through my headphones. I tried connecting the Sony earbuds but the problem remains. This really frustrates me..

Try to clean your audio jack with a clean ear stick.It could be just dirty or it could be broken,case in which you need to visit a nearby sony center.
