I have had my x10 now about 2months, I plugged it in to get its usual boost and nothing no LED come on, now status bar notification nothing. I have tried the wall charger and I have charged the USB charge and still nothing. I have purchased a new battery and that is now dead and no it won't charge!
I am confused when you plug the charger in it starts the phone as it would normally, but then the phone shuts down because it has no battery. I have read on the internet that this is a seemingly common fault with the X10 and have red that you should factory reset, cant battery is dead.
I wondered if anyone else has had this problem and if/or they fixed it, got it fixed and how?
The local mobile shop told me they couldnt fix it, its going back to the network but I now may change phone, I thought SE build quality was what made them different and made up for the sluggish updates and rubbish support ?
did you try let phone charging at least two hours, sometimes with flat battery it need to be attached hours since charging led start showing status...HTH.
Tried it and still nothing, left it plugged in for ages and everynow and then out of the corner of my eye i see it start up, i get excited, and then it shuts down!
I got my phone on the 18th of September and the ability to charge the battery stopped on or about the 23rd of September. I have updated the software 4 times trying to find a solution. The status of the phone now is that the battery won't charge in the phone and the power button does not turn off the phone - I have to take the battery out. I bought a separate battery charger and a spare battery so I am able to use the phone, just have to take the battery out to turn it off.
I've spoke with SE support in the US and attempted by e-mail here in Europe. I've taken the phone to the local repair and they believe it is a hardware failure, but won't repair it because I didn't buy it here and it has no waranty. There has been considerable debate on other threads about whether users consider this a hardware problem or a software problem, perhaps connected to update
R2BA026. Since I'm not an expert, I can only say that the SE people believe it is hardware related. What caused the failure has not been said, whether user or manufacturer based, because they won't look at my phone (they don't do paid repairs at the SE shop here).
If it is software and related to the update, then perhaps the next update in a few weeks will solve the problem. If not, then it really is a hardware problem and I will probably have to send it back to the States or use it with the separate battery charger until I return to the States, where I can find someone to look at it.
Sorry if this doesn't give you any answers or hope. The most common recommendation I have received is take it to the SE shop and have them repair it. Hope that's possible for you.
i would recommend you to send the device into the SE Service Centre for repairs. Tell them to chnage the motherboard.
I believe you have burnt some circuits.
