When charging, why does the Orange light appear?

I connected my phone to the charger, and instead of the usual green light / battery icon showing it's charging, the orange light in the top left corner came on and there's nothing different about the battery icon - am I missing something?? I find it incredibly frustrating that I can't charge the phone when *I* want to charge it - the phone seems to have a mind of it's own when it comes to charging...

You all have forgot the black light when the phone is stand-by or turned off actually when in middle of charge process there is a strange composite lights with a orange spot contourned from a green-yellow light if you see straight and close at it...

This is all very strange - incredibly frustrating for you, I am sure.  I think that you're going to have to go back to the store again and get yet another new phone.  You are quite sure that they did give you a brand-new phone when you returned it the first time, I suppose?

Well, that much I can't say I know. I've never manage to run my device below 30%

Might I just inquire, but what phone are you using? X10i, X10a, X10 Mini or X10 Mini Pro?

Try going back to the store and asking them for a new micro-usb cable and try it on the spot.

LOL.... I've played it for several half-hours in any given day! So, I figure it doesn't eat into the battery power much. Well... the screen does.
