USB Tethering available yet in 2.1 Android?

I have been using PdatNet on my Xperia X10 Mini with 1.6 Android for accessing the Internet on my Laptop via my cellphone and USB Cable.

I have now upgraded my cellphone to 2.1 Android.

Can anyone confirm whether or not USB Tethering is available on 2.1 Android yet and how to set it up, or will it only become available in 2.2 Android (meaning that I will still need to keep on using PdaNet)?

You still will have to rely on PDANet to access internet via your phone even after the upgrade to Eclair.

USB Tethering is supported only in 2.2(Froyo).

The lack of tethering is just one of many reasons the Xperia customers are highly unhappy about Sony Ericsson update policy. There is no way around 2.2 (or better 2.3) for our phones - within a reasonable time - just very few months, but not years or never.

In my opinion, Sony Ericsson must take this step as a courtesy to all the loyal or marketing-blinded customers.
