Hi, I have an x10 whit broken USB connector.
looking on the web is a common stuff whit USB on that model.....
(SE what about quality on flagship phone like that)?
The SE repair center in my city told me that I cant have it repaired under warranty because I loose proof of purchase...
N problem for charging, I have buyed an external charger...
But for updating OS?
ANY WAY to have OS and update loaded WHITIUT using USB?
Why some update cant be done OTA?
Please let me know...im desperate... Stuck at older 1.6...
Updates can be done over the air, generally. Menu button - Settings - About phone - Software update. That said, I think some people have had to make certain updates using the USB attached to their computer.
When you say that the USB connector is broken, I assume you mean the cable, as the phone is able to charge using a replacement cable, which I also assume is a one piece charger, rather than one that that comes with the phone, which has the standard plug to go in to the USB socket on the computer. If so, can you not just buy a new USB cable? Or have I misunderstood your question...?
We're all on 1.6 for now, by the way. The update is expected in the next couple of weeks.
I think you can only do minor updates without usb.
nope....unfortunately is connector INSIDE phone that is broken.
for the update my x10 asked for a presnet update, but say "please attach to the computer for doing it"
So even *minor* update cant be done (at least some of those...)
Yeah allowed me to update to the latest software over the air but not with eclair 2.1 about to be released you "have to connect to pc" for new updates and that is a pain cos i am having problems with the update companion ie it doesnt bloody work
