The reason I think unbranded phone aren't getting 4.2 update! 4.3

From heavy browsing through the internet to find answers to the "When are Unbranded Phones getting 4.2?" question, I've descovered blogs stating that Sony have announced the 4.3 Update release.

I can't confirm this personally, but it would make sense not to release 4.2 to the majority Xperia base when 4.3 is nearly ready to roll out.

Can anyone confirm this or add some info on this?

I have a unbranded Z, and have got all updates. the rollout is based eg. on the operator/region you are in.

False, it makes no difference to them as to which updates come out first. What would be the point of delaying the latest update? If it is ready it is ready.

Actually Christopher is quite right. There is still regional approvals to deal with for each update. You can read a more updated explanation regarding firmware approval here:

Sam, If this is the case can you explain to us all why the UK unbranded handset is still on 4.1? 4 update behind everyone else even though all the carriers in the UK have 4.2 and we have no carrier or region to gain approval from? thanks Paul.
