45% : No any update for SATIO.

25% : Bugs fix for SATIO.

15% : Many bugs fix for SATIO with RESPONSE SPEED IMPROVEMENT plus some new feature.

10% : Upgrade SATIO from Symbian ^1 to ^3 (But this one need contract with NOKIA ... ....)

Hi Lads,

My son has the Satio and is happy but he's young after looking at the threads I was appalled to see the situation Sony has created

So with that heres some advice I hope can help.

Most people believe that the 12 months warrenty is all they get, this is incorrect.T.

the 12 months is a warrenty and I use the word sparingly here it actualy a common

ploy by the manufacture to look good.

Infact in the UK you have 5 years (Scotland) and 6 years (England) under current government regulation.

roughly you  complain to the SUPPLIER of the phone that it is not fit for purpose due to the following etc freezing whatever the problem.

the suppier then has the right to replace it (but if not fit for purpose it wont be) and usually will give you money towards a replacement of similar spec but they will not give you the full amount

as you have had some use out of it generally depends on how long you have had it(this is how a Judge would look at it).

Put as much info as you can i.e common faults as detailed on this thread and others not supporting the device to fix problems etc

they will procrastinate (always want to use that word)  but click on this line to relevant info .

look up Sale of goods act if link does not work.

If your  sceptical I had a logik tv from dixons after 3 years it went PHUTT! I chased them and finally sent an email to the head of the company Sir or Lord somebody threating legal action inside 1 hr the secetary replied offering me £350 which got me a new TV as prices had dropped YOU dont even have to have your reciept they will have details.

The only real condition is how much was it original item if it was £2 for a light bulb then forget it but if its a substantial sum and it would be expected that it work for a reasonable time (value depandant) so a +£300 phone I would expect say 3 years min and if it has a record of known faults and especially is not supported now, well charge on it will cost you nothing to try and will put pressure on Sony to do something .

Hope this helps infact the more of you that do the better.

Note the six months period from when you bought the phone this is important if you are still within that period  is on them to prove otherwise not YOU.

Excuse spelling ill at present

Good luck

Dear All,

It's strange that SE launched its flagship 12 MP camera phone with an untried OS (Symbian s60v5), released another model (Vivaz and its cousin the Vivaz Pro), and then ditched the OS completely. One would think that they had a long term strategy in mind when going with symbian, but it appears that they didn't.

One possible solution would be to issue a 'version' release for Symbian^3, which has a some of the updates we've been clamouring for. This is of course subject to the Satio's hardware matching or bettering the Symbian^3 requirements. But since it seems near impossible that SE would sanction an upgrade to Symbian^3 (please correct me if I'm wrong here), it really makes me wonder what they were thinking.

Team SE, please let us know if something is possible in this area or if we are flogging a dead horse.

The latest is that SE have just released an update for the Vivaz (R2EA023). They have also tied up with SPB to bundle the SPB Mobile Shell with the Vivaz and the Vivaz Pro phones for the APAC region. Why the step-motherly treatment to the Satio? I request the moderator to kindly respond on this thread, or start a new discussion with the final verdict on the Satio.
