45% : No any update for SATIO.

25% : Bugs fix for SATIO.

15% : Many bugs fix for SATIO with RESPONSE SPEED IMPROVEMENT plus some new feature.

10% : Upgrade SATIO from Symbian ^1 to ^3 (But this one need contract with NOKIA ... ....)

05% : Change SATIO from Symbian ^1 to Android (Open Source but important is need rewrite, more hard, also SonyEricsson not yet settle X10 update, any maybe contract problem.)

Anyway, everyone is waiting the best solution from SonyEricsson.

THIS DISCUSSIONS WILL COMPLETE CLOSE BECAUSE WITH Jeff-SEAnswers LATEST ANSWER:

"THERE WILL BE NO UPDATES TO THE SATIO IN THE FUTURE"

I THINK THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DEFINITE ANSWER.
SO NO MORE DISCUSSIONS FOR "SATIO UPDATE" BECOUSE SATIO ALREADY HAVE THE PERFECT FIRMWARE.
MAYBE ALL PREVIOUSLY COMPLAINTS AND ANGRY MAY HAVE BEEN TERRIRIED OF ALL SE-ANSWER,
SO REMEMBER ALL, DUN WRITE ANY ANGRY, DUN WRITE ANY OVERDOSE CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS, DUN WRITE ANY COMPLAINS.
ANY COMPLAINT WILL BE INVALID, ANY ANGRY WILL BE INVALID,
BECAUSE NO ANY UPDATES TO SATIO IN THE FUTURE.

Thanks for telling us the bad news Jeff, hopefully the next SE flagship phone can get better support.

So, SE took our money and left us with a really buggy smartphone wanna be.... how nice of them.

Can someone give me some really good models, i need to change my phone.

P.S.: i'm being serious, i really need a new phone.

Well, the upcoming Nokia N8 looks promising. It should be on sale in ~ 2 months.

Basically it is an Satio with better specifications, Symbian^3 (yes, the system the Satio was supposed to have in the first place) and I guess WAYYYYY better support!

But whatever handset you are going to buy: wait for a proper test and lots of community feedback before purchasing!

Maybe this mobile is the reason why SE is raising the white flag. Who will buy a Satio when the way better N8 can be bought for just 100 EUR more?

Greetings

Trust me, Nokia support is waaayyyyy worse!  The N97 was a disaster - an extremely expensive disaster for me - don't get the N8 until it has been out a while  - a new os is bound to be full of bugs (I think Nokia grows its own bug hive!!)

N8 seems amazing but i'm afraid to buy it and get another 'Satio' (can we use Satio as an expression to 'non working phone/smartphone'?????)

This was my first touch phone and i'm not very impressed, it takes forever to write a simple sms. Maybe a 'touch and type' phone is better for me.

HTC has some impressive ones but they are all windows based...don't know how they behave.

I'll probably get back to my K800i and wait for new models from Nokia or HTC.

BTW, you keep saying that SE phones can't be flashed but there are some tools (free and not so free) to do it. And we can choose the file (ROM) to use, giving us the possibility to use cooked ROM's.

Unfortunately i don't have the skills to make one....:smileysad:

FOR SE NOW
: if you don't want to suport satio anymore, at least give us the tools to do something with this 600€ "flagship"...

Hi All, We have noticed that there are a lot of questions around the different software releases for Satio and we are sorry for taking some time to get back to you all with some clarifications. After having listened to a lot of valuable feedback on this blog and other forums, we earlier this year released the second and final software update for Satio to include some of the most common requests. • Support for WVGA video recording • Direct Upload of pictures to Facebook • Direct Youtube video uploading • DLNA support • UI improvements – On top of above, several minor UI improvements have been done in order to optimize the user experience. Hopefully many of you already have this software in your phone, but otherwise you find the update on http://www.sonyericsson.com/update as always. Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you for your valuable feedback! We continue to listen and even if not all your suggestions have been possible to implement in Satio, we are making good use of the feedback for coming Sony Ericsson products.

Regards, Fredrik

Huh. No more support for Satio, then no more Sony Ericsson.

I wish bought an i8910 instead of this junk. I was so stupid to buy this because of Fanboyism.

I just got off the phone with SE and the guy went to check if there is an update and he was told there is. So I have you here saying there won't be one and people on the phone saying there will be. SE has horrible communication skills. The guy said that you are probably right but wasn't sure why he was being told differently. I'm going to put my Satio up for sale on ebay and get an iphone with regular updates and great communication skills throughout the company. So sad though, the Satio has potential to be better than the iphone but SE won't do anything. SE needs to take lessons from Apple.

Since SE already decide to abandon this phone firmware upgrade, then they should do something such as make the final firmware R2AK to be hackable so that we as user which own this phone at least can customize this phone ourself.

Now we are stuck on half way of the road, can't go further because SE plan to abandon this phone firmware upgrade, can't go backward coz this R2AK was lock and un-hackable.....

SE should do something on this, at least give us another choice  even they don't want to support Satio anymore.

Else this phone will dead just like that, and we all are pay for it , it was unfair for us as their website already say they will keep on support the phone they release for up to 2 years. but this phone is less then 1 year from date of release.

Beside that, it really prove this phone have lots of problem which firmware can fix it, SE can't fix it then just unlock the firmware let other 3rd party people fix it.

Hi,

I would apprecaite if you can release the update for Satio. a new OS instead of Symbian if you can provide us Android it will make this phone a Big shot in market as satio already has a great look and camera.
