smart backlight control

I just got my xperia z2 yesterday and i see sony still has the overheating problem. Also, the smart backlight control doesn't work. Anyone has the same problem?

Try checking the brightness on the phone and.tick the box that says "actually adjust brightness of lighting conditions "

I tried turning on and off the "adapt lighting condition" but the screen always turned off even when I'm holding it. Any other suggestion?

Always turned off? Have you tried checking the option underneath the brightness for the screen to auto turn off, set that to 10 minutes

Backlight control is also buggy. When I had it set to on, my screen refused to enter standby altogether, so in the end, I switched it off.
Sony need to test this further. Seems the backlight control is buggy
