As many of you know, Sony Ericsson has said time after time they have ceased production of full android upgrades for the Xperia X10 series. "We believe that the current Xperia range on Android 2.1 coupled with Sony Ericsson’s proprietary upgrades and unique hardware delivers a user experience that is on par with, and in many cases better than, a vanilla installation of Android 2.2."
They are so wrong, it's not even funny.
The steps originally included in this thread are now outdated and I don't have time to update constantly to keep up with SE's incessant fw updates to block us from gaining access to OUR OWN PROPERTY.

that's quite odd, try to take off the battery, press the power button, then put the battery back in, do not turn on the phone, just connected to the wall charger, and see if the LED turns on
I dont think that's the reason, after all its not up to them to decide if they should work on 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc. or if they should work on future updates
