Rooting X10

My friends (who don't use Android mobiles) recommended me to root my Xperia X10 mobile. Is this advisable and would I still be able to turn back after rooting it? What could go wrong with my phone if I do root it?

Probably the first thing to bring to your attention is that rooting will invalidate your warranty therefore if you have any issues with your phone further down the line, its down to you to sort out.

Like any process it can go wrong and you could potentially end up with a bricked phone. That said many, many people have successfully rooted and have had no problems.  This forum is not really the place to find out all the information you want as it isn't something that SE would condone, I would suggest that you have a look a XDA developers site or Android forums, both have lots of information on rooting and helpful members willing to answer any queries you might have.

Just make sure that you have taken on board all the information you need to make your own informed decision and accept all the consequences that will go with it.
