The other thing to bear in mind is that the speaker in the earpiece is very directional and it takes a bit of getting used to holding it in just the right way (now I sound like Steve Jobs with the Iphone!), but truly a small readjustment can make a big difference.
That is not taking away from the fact that we should be able to turn it up a bit louder.. maybe a fix in the new firmware release? But that is a whole other can of worms not for discussion here.
