PS3/PS4 Controllers with Android Games (and Cardboard VR)?

T-Mobile Xperia Z3 D6616 here.  Can I use my PS3 or PS4 controllers with "regular" Android games?  What about as a bluetooth controller for the generic VR housings for smartphones?  I'm specifically NOT asking about "PS4 Remote Play".

Does Sony have any position on Dancing Pixel Studios' "Sixaxis Controller" on the Google Play store?

Thanks!

it depends on the games themselves so better contact the games devs

you mean connecting controller to VR? or connecting to the phone while on VR? hmmm sounds a good Idea, but then again it will be down to compatibilty, as sony has intended the connection for ps4 remote play.

the apps themeselves do not pose infrigement (as far as I am aware). but the pirated roms do..

Thanks. I'm not actually thinking of PSP ROMs, more just like using a PS controller in place of something like the GameSir controller:

Since Remote Play works, I know my phone can pair with the controller.  I just want to use it outside of Remote Play for controller-enabled Play store apps and in place of the flimsy little VR controllers.  A Move navigation controller looks like it'd be an awesome replacement for the little bluetooth VR controllers like this:

You can definitely use the controller on Android games that support a controller, I use DS4 all the time and not just paired with my Z3. It works on my acer iconia tab, my PC but sometimes you won't be able to configure button layout the way you want. It all depends on the game.

Usually the game detects your controller automatically and you can go right in, sometimes you have to change to controller in the game settings. Btw this doesn't require remote play.
