Problems Updating Software

Hi

I purchased my Xperia Go exactly one month ago, and I've decided to upgrade my software. Unfortunately, it refuses to update. My update center does not give me the option to update my software, so I am using my PC instead. I have installed PC Companion. I get the message that it is preparing my PC and it ends there. I therefore haven't been able to update my software. Any idea why?
