I have an issue with my Xperia Z , when I am driving in the car , I have my phone connected via a factory Sony car charger , however if I use my sat nav and bluetooth connections at the same time the battery runs down faster than it can charge , I have disabled or stopped  all other apps from running apart from the sat nav and the bluetooth and now my phone only lasts about an hour before turning itself off , please help this is driving me mad

That's normal, similar thing happen if you try to USB tether with a computer. lower the brightness of the screen, that should help.

I don't agree on finding that "normal".

Using a GPS application in car with the phone plugged to a USB charger providing sufficient energy should not leads to discharge over time.

I have the same problem with my Z. Thinking the charger was in fault, I have bought an ANKER model able to provide 2000mA.

Unfortunatly, even with this charger my phone battery is actually discharging when used in car.

For info: screen brightness is set to aproximately 1/3 of max.
