Funny enough I saw another thread like this somewhere today. Is your phone recognising your SD card?
Do you have a large or mini?
Have you tried connecting to your PC with the USB to see if you can view the contents of the SD card, you might need to install the PC Companion suite onto your PC if you don't already have it.
Let us know how you get on with the above and then we'll see if anyone can chip in with some help.
okay yea fair enough, it still recognises the SD Card and i have a Large, yea i tried to move my computer to view everything on the card but there is nothing on it
If you go to Menu>Settings>SD Card & Phone Storage what does it say? Is your SD Card mounted? Have you tried taking the SD card out and then reinserting it and turning phone back on. If you do this, does it say Initializing SD Card or words to that effect?
i cant it wont let me into any menus or anything it just comes up with, The phone storage is full. You need to delete some applications to free up some space on the memory before start. the phone will launch Manage applications. Select an aplication that you downloaded and press delete button in the detail screen. but i have no downloaded applications or anything and because it wont let me into the menu i cant check anything, yea it does say intializing SD card then it goes away as usual, and i have tried removing it and putting back in it makes no difference, My SD card is not mounted however i can mount it due to the fact i can still slide the top part down
I wonder if you need to do a phone reset/repair on Sony Ericsson Update Service or PC Companion. This will wipe your phone and return it to factory settings. It could be that you have a defective SD card. You will lose your contacts and any information you have saved on the phone but as its unusable in this condition anyway it could sort you out. If you have synced or saved your contacts previously you will be able to reinstall them.
This reset normally repairs minor glitches. If it doesn't then perhaps it needs looking at by the experts.
Just pondering, when you view your SD card via your PC does it show absolutely nothing at all because if it came with the phone in the box, it normally had a few files on it like the Emanuel and the PC Companion software and camera album DCIM etc. Cos if it is reading as totally blank I think that sounds more like a defective card. Would it let you create a file on it using your computer? Again if it doesn't that sounds like a card problem.
When i got the phone the first thing i did was move the wallpaper and stuff of the SD card onto comp, i dont think its letting me add files onto it, However i can add songs to it, It sucks ive only had this phone for like 2 weeks
how do you do the reset?
I wonder if you inadvertantly took something off the sd card that needed to be there? Can you put everything back that was there to start with?
The only other thing to do is take it back to were you got it from for a repair.
You could try the reset first to see if that does anything.
