No LED notifications

Hi guys I've had this phone for a month now and mostly enjoying it. I have noticed since about 5 mins of having the phone I initially had led notification lighting up but after set up / installing my data I now don't get any led notifications for anything. Is this normal? Was I imagining the led notification or is there meant to be one? Any fix? Thank you

I don't remember there being a diagnostic for the led. There was one for a flash with camera but not for led. I'll check again now but I'm sure there wasn't one.

There isn't, Ive just checked again.
I would suggest you contact your local support as it does seem to be hardware related.
You could try a repair installation using Xperia companion first, just to rule out a dodgy bit of software.

I did something with the companion thing already. I think it might have been the repair but no joy. I'll have to give them a ring tomorrow in that case then. Thank you

For all Android's famous customisation, I find the LEDs to be useless because I cannot switch them off for Gmail. Thus they flash for emails as well, when I only want to be notified of SMS, calls and Whatsapp messages when my screen is off. As my LED is often flashing to alert me that I've received yet another spam or low priority email I find the feature pretty pointless. Sure I could switch off Gmail notifications altogether, but I do still want to receive the banners....just not the LEDs. So I doubt that I would send my phone off for repair if this was the only fault. YMMV of course.

@Nk87 @Viridis@Sunking101

There should be a test for the LED together with illumination if you dial *#*#7378423#*#* and go to service tests.

Is the illumination /LED where I'd expect the led to come on? I just tried it and the screen flashed from bright to dim but no led. Does that mean it's a hardware problem?

Have you pressed the screen @Nk87? If yes and the LED still won't turn on, it's hardware.

I tried it again and it definitely didn't come on. Thanks for all your help!

@Nk87 Sorry to say but it all points towards this being hardware related then. Slightly_frowning_Face Your Local support team can give you more information on how you can proceed with this from here.
