My Sony Ericsson W595 can not read my memory card, what should I do?

My Sony Ericsson W595, on Vodafone can not read my memory card. It was working properly until last night when I clicked on Media & Photos, and I was told I had no pictures. I went to file manager and onto the memory card files and it said 'no files'. Does anybody know how to fix this or what is wrong with it? My phone memory is still normal and everything else functions properly, except for my memory card. I updated it and I even checked if its placed in properly but nothing seems to help. My memory card is a San Disk M2 with 2GB Memory storage. Can anyone please help me?

It could be a memory card problem or a phone problem.I suggest you run the SE update service on your phone and if that doesn't help, you can try formatting the card.You can try another memory card in your phone or the same memory card in another phone, to help identify the source of the problem and take appropriate action.
