My mobile won't let me sign into things on the internet?

My mobile won't let me sign into things on the internet?

I have a Sony Ericsson C905.

I can get onto the internet but it won't let me sign into things. (Like twitter etc.)
I think it must have come with some sort of child lock on it as it comes up with a lock sign whenever I try to do it.

I've looked in the manual and a little on the internet and can't find out how it take it off.

Is it one of those things where you have to phone you and confirm you're old enough (not a child) or is there a code you can type in or something?
Would I ring Sony Ericsson or Orange (the network I'm on)?

Thanks!

Oh yeh, I didn't think of it like that, lol. I was just thinking of it being a customer servise thing land line, not an actual shop, hahaha. I've got a number for that now (obviously won't be able to ring that until tomorrow).

I'm downloading the updates via my phone right now. (Is taking ages, there must be a lot of them considering I've never updated it before. Oops.)

Would an ap get around the problem temporarily? I've got a long journey tomorrow and I particularly wanted to be able to go on twitter during it. (I'm addicted, hahahaa.)

Do you know where to get an ap for that? Even finding that's seeming to be hard atm. (Maybe I'm just because I'm tired though.)

Let me know if the update fixes the problem. Are you using Wi-Fi to connect to the internet, or the mobile network, or both?

Edit: The reason I'm asking, is that a child lock shouldn't apply over Wi-Fi because you're not using the mobile network--Just a thought!

So the undate has finally finished and it didn't even fix it. Slightly_frowning_Face

I was using 3G or whatever but just tryed using the wi-fi and it still didn't let me. wth. Slightly_frowning_Face

Think I'm going to have to phone up the orange shop. But that's really annoying because I won't have time to do that before my trip tomorrow, which was what I was doing it for. (Obviously I'll still want it fixed but you know what I mean.)

What exactly will they do anyway? Ask me details, check I'm not a child ect and then unlock it on their database or something? They'll do something I won't be able to myself over the internet etc?

Any thoughts on the twitter app? Would it be useable or would the child lock (if it is that) block that too?

Do you know where to get that app? I couldn't find it easily.

Also, I remember very briefly when I got my phone it saying something about an internet account or something, that I'm pretty sure I didn't set up. Will this of affected something? My internet does work though (just can't sign into sites), so it must not of affected anything?

(Thanks for helping.)

Edit: I've now just found that status thing you were talking about before and it does say security is off. Surely that would be a good thing (don't want a child lock on) but you said it should be on. How do I put it on?

If in your "status" tab, security is off, that's fine.If you need to set up an internet account because you're with Orange (I'm assuming that your phone is Orange branded), then that may the problem. Also, you can try installing Opera mini, an internet browser, and see whether you can visit sites through this: what you need to do in your case, is download the application to your PC from opera.com, transfer it to your phone via USB and install it.
