Missing emails

I'm not receiving all of my emails.

Before I had my Xperia L, I had an email address with my husband's gmail account on his iMac. I therefore used the email address and account for my Xperia emails. However, I'm not receiving all of the emails addressed to me, not even when I request a download. They arrive automatically at my husband's iMac, but not all of them turn up on my Xperia.

We're wondering whether keeping my email address active on my husband's iMac is making it a priority / default recipient, somehow preventing emails to me from downloading automatically to my Xperia.

Does anyone have any idea what is or isn't happening, and how this might be fixed?

Would deleting my email address from my husband's iMac help?

Go to

Settings > accounts > google > do you see the gmail account there? if you do then tap on it > sync gmail, also sync should be on

Don't forget to give Kudos

Thank you for your advice, and sorry for my delayed response.

A check of Settings / accounts / Google revealed all sync boxes ticked.

What if you try this

settings > apps > all > gmail > uninstall updates > clear everything > also delete the gmail account > restart your phone > add the account and check again

Hello again (hopefully!),

I can get from settings to gmail, but can't see uninstall updates there, just two buttons labelled force stop and disable, followed by show notifications then the following section headings - storeage, cache, launch by default and permissions.
