App will not uninstall

I installed a (rubbsih) app for learning French.  I free games app installed at the same time (as well as changing my ringtone). I have uninstalled the app and changed the ringtone back but the 'fre game' app (with a red fox looking face) will not uninstall.  How can I get rid of it?  (I am now also getting lots of message about reclaiming PPI money, etc, etc.)

Try wiping your whole data from your phone.

Claire: if Your phone is a pre-paid, then check amount of money left on Your account. If it isn't, then check if it is sending any Premium Messages (extra paid), because it looks like this. To remove this app, You can wipe clean Your phone via PC Companion, or search for free apps to do it for You on Google Play. And be careful next time. Don't install everything You can find for free on the internet...

No need to update firmware. Just do a "Factory data reset".

1. Make a backup of you phone memory (like contacts, messages, etc)

Go to Menu -> Utilities -> Back up & restore ->
Select the files you want to back up (System apps data, Media files, Downloaded apps with data)

If you want to select Downloaded apps with data, then expand it and uncheck/deselect the apps which you don't want on your phone.

Tap Back up now

2. Go to Settings -> Backup & reset -> Factory data reset.

3. After resetting your phone, again go to menu -> Utilities -> Back up & restore -> Restore -> select the backed up file -> Tap Restore now.
