Hi. I purchased Sony xperiaJ in February 2013. For the first month, it worked fine. but ever since I made the jelly bean update, it's been giving issues regarding voice calls. This might have been a pure co-incidence but that's just my observation. The problem is that during a voice call, I am able to hear the person on the other end, but they can't hear me. This has been happening with increasing frequency. (it doesn't always happen). I read a similar question here and 'repaired' my phone through Sony PC companion but the problem persists. Is it the hardware issue? Can I expect to get a replacement?

Since a software repair didn't solve the issue I'd say it's related to hardware. Take it to a service center so they can take a look at it and repair/replace it. Contact your local Xperia Support for more information:
