Hi all, i'm new to Arc so i have a question here.

How do i determine where to install the apps? The internal memory isn't exactly a lot so it's a bit clogged up now with only 120 Mb left. Any way I can install future apps onto the SD card? Appreciate this forum very much

Thanks all

You can move the apps from the internal memory to the SD card.

There is a free app available on the Android market to do this automatically if you allow it to do the transfer.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&feature=search_result

Alternatively, go into the settings menu ---> Applications -- > Manage applications  ---> Select On SD Card ---> Tick the boxes of the apps you want to be transferred to the SD card.

Note not all apps can be transferred

Your welcome.

There is also a manual way to do it, but since there is an app that does it well, why not use it Slightly_smiling_Face

Any tips witch App is best to move - or App not to move?

The way I decide which app to leave on the internal memory is like this.

Eg. Mobo Player : I leave on the internal memory.

Reason : Mobo Player will be accessing the SD card for the data content.  Rrading/and writing to the SD card becomes more busy if Mobo Player is also on the SD Card. It can then cause some lag in the playing of the movie.

Basically the player apps like Power Amp, Mobo Player I leave on the internal memory.

E-mail/Messaging apps also I leave on the internal memory

Games I move it to the SD card.

Internet browser also I leave on the internal memory

Navigation and Google Earth, Street View, Weather type of apps I move to the SD card

Mobile security apps I leave on the internal memory.

Other utility apps I also leave on the internal memory.

If I start running oout of room, I will move those apps I do not use that often to the SD Card

I would move EVERYTHING to sd, unless the apps doesn't allow so, and some apps that has widget, and you "are using" it, don't don't move those, cause that would be an active apps, and active apps don't function if move to sd, at least I very much believe so.

Especially audio/video apps I prefer to leave in the internal memory.

Data files like movie clips, MP3 songs, photos, etc, I have them on the SD card

My reasoning behind that is if you also have the video app on the SD Card together with the data source, the SD card will be involved in more read and write transfers.

Anyway it is up to each person to decide where they like the apps to be stored. Slightly_smiling_Face

Yes. it´s up to everyone - but sometimes it can be helpful to get some tips from other user if you are not quite sure yourself - and if you are newcomer to smartphones Winking_Face
