Hello all,
First time caller long time listener. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, hopefully there's help to be found!
Have been searching the forums for a solution to this dilemma but none of the suggested methods I've come across thus far seem to be working for me.
Only a couple of days ago my laptop stopped recognizing my M2 D2303 when I connect it via USB - I've got 4 ports and none work, no matter how many times I uninstall/reinstall drivers, and regardless of connection mode or whether PC Companion is running or not. I've tried two different cables; with one I keep getting the "USB device not recognized" error message (shows up as "Unknown device" in the device manager, updating the driver is not working - my laptop seems very determined that the latest driver is already installed), with the other the phone just goes into charge mode but doesn't even show up in the device manager?! PCC doesn't detect the phone no matter with what cable I'm using or where it's plugged in - I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling PCC as well but no luck there either. And trying to install an ADB driver doesn't work, just gives me the same message ("Device not found")...
This post may be a bit premature as I've yet to try on another laptop - furthermore, since I can't back anything up as it stands I'm a bit hesitant to root the phone etc. in case things go **bleep** up. But if all else fails...
It's been working fine since I got the phone over a year ago, seems to have just decided to start acting up overnight. Everything is up-to-date and running otherwise, the problem seems to be the driver but I'm not sure. Seems impossible to get a hold of a driver and install it manually : (
Any help would be very much appreciated!
I'm (somewhat ironically) on a Sony VAIO running Win 7.
Kind thanks in advance,
Jonas
Thanks for replying. I've tried another computer, does pretty much the same thing. Goes into charge mode but it is not recognized/located...
Hi @Cemalim,
If you are experiencing the same thing when trying to connect your phone to two different PC's as well as trying with several different USB cables then I'm afraid that there might be something wrong with your phone. If this remains my suggestion is to get the phone examined at one of our authorised service centers.
Contact your Local support team for more information if need be.
please turn off debugging mode from developer options and try . mine worked
I am also facing the same problem with my sony M2 phone.
#CMUJ - where is the developer option available where I can turn off the debugging mode.
