How do I transfer my Arc to ZR?

Just got a ZR and now I want to transfer from my old Arc...

PC companion doesn't seem to do the trick. Nomerous apps on Google play promise heaven but doesn't deliver.

SMS, MMS, appdata ie games.

I prefer to not root the Arc and I don't want to root hte ZR, work phone.

Tx for advice..

I don't suggest that you transfer all your sms/mms, why? the more SMS/MMS and  call logs that you store on your phone the slower it will become not just the app but the phone itself.

Hi

Thanks. Good try, unfortunealty not the solution for Angry Birds..

I'm down to a quite complex but possible approach, stuck in the last step though..

Have anyone sucessfully modified an Xperia Z/ZR backup in PC companion.  My final resort without rooting is to trick the backup utility..

My process:

1. Retreive savegame files from old Arc

2. Create backup from ZR using PC Companion

3. Modify backup from ZR, ie replace existing savegame files in ZR with savegame files from Arc

 a) Un-zip backupfile

 b) Decompress fullbackupdata file for specific app - using Droid Explorer

 c) Un-tar fullbackupdata file

 c) Replace savegame files

 d) Re-tar fullbackupdata file

 e) Compress fullbackupdata file - using  Droid Explorer

 f) Zip backupfile

4. Reload backup onto ZR using PC companion - FAIL

Now, I beleive that there is a consistency check in the PC Companion backup ball that have to be modified. Have anyone sucessfully done that?

Came further. Got fooled by 7zip that added an extra sub folder. creating both tar and zip archive.

Solved that but didnt help though as the PC companion still reports failure on the restore.

Any chance to find a log or debug print on the restore to find out what went wrong.
