File Commander displaying abusive adds

Ok, so this one is getting me mad!
File commander comes standard with Xperia device's.
It is my only way of accessing my storage and I can't delete it, just deactivate it.
Now I'm getting bombarded with advertisements in this app, pop ups and even loud advertisement videos starting poping up!!
It's a big shame that an app that comes pre-defined from a Sony device and it's fundamental for its usage bombards us with adverts!!
Is it possible to reach Sony on this issue? What can I do?! Imagine if IPhone had imesseger displaying adds?! It would be a shame! I paid for this phone and want clean basic apps!

Hi @André_Rangel,

Depending on which software you run it may not be possible to uninstall File commander.

If you have updated to Marshmallow, you may for example use Native explorer instead. Go to Settings > Storage > Internal storage > Explore. You can also choose to use alternative File managers which you may download from Google Play. Note that we do not offer support for any third party apps.

Still doesn´t solve the problem. It´s not right from Sony and they can´t have a pre-instaled software, which is essencial for the usage of the phone, with abusive adds.

I understand how you feel and I can forward this as user feedback. As I mentioned earlier you can choose to disable the app and use Native explorer, or download another file manager from Google Play.

Thank you Emir! Creating an app just for the native explorer would be the right thing to do Slightly_smiling_Face Hope one day I will not see Calls as a free app, where each time I want to answer a call I have to see a 15 seconds add 😂😂

Better to use Calls as a free app André_Rangel. What would you say when you see SMS as a free app?
Where each time you want to tap one word, you have to see ad for 15 seconds. 😂😂

Of course it has to be a free app!

And advert free either! It was a way of putting the ridicule the situation:

They are giving us an app, essential for the phone usage and are displaying abusive adds on it;

the same as if they put adds on the calls app; unacceptable.

Hi @Rangel96, I understand your concern but please note that the File Commander app is from third party, we are not the developers of it and therefore do not choose how their app works or if it's free or paid, we also do not decide if it displays ads or not.

I suggest getting in touch with the app developers of File Commander to share your feedback with them, and I'll forward your feedback internally as well. Slightly_smiling_Face

Thank you! I guess the faul is not on them (of course they want to earn some adds money!), but on Sony, for allowing an essential app to be supplied and controled by a 3rd party.
It's like if I paid for a Tesla car and the main on-board screen was made from a 3rd part supplier...they would put adds on it, I would contact Tesla and they would say..."well the screen was developed by other company, you can ask them to remove the adds." No! I paid for the car to you, Tesla! I want this screen, which is essential (like file commander (no way of assessing internal storage without it)), get you things together!
