False advertiing - Sony Xperia Z3 is NOT waterproof at all

I'm just trying to understand how you can advertise that you can take pics underwaer with the Sony Xperia Z3.  This is UNLAWFUL and false advertising!!! my phone is brandnew - and now it doesnt work anymore. I cannot use the  touchscreen and my screen is now completely black.  I had to book my phone in for repairs and while i was at the store I wasnt the only one that sent my phone in for repairs with the same issue!!!

Really confused and disgusted!!!  I just hope that my phone gets replaced and that i DONT end up having to pay for it

i am facing same problem with my Xpria Z3, But it is not dade it has touch screen and application restart problem.

 I had purchased Sony Xperia Z3 mobile recently who has water proof with IP68 certified - dust proof and water resistant over 1 meter and 30 minutes. Now my mobile got liquid damage due to it blow down in water bucket and water get inside the phone hence all covers are properly closed. When I submit this phone in nearest authorised SONY gallery they took my phone with them more than around 22 days and after thy told me it repair cost is chargeable of 31800/- RS hence my device is in warranty.

The phone its waterproof, you could request a vacuum test with your local xperia care, if it pass the test then you didn't firmly closed the covers, if it doesn't then either the phone has manufacturer issues OR perhaps there are cracks on your phone.

Definitely it close the cover proper as per sony condition, and it blow down in water bucket with clean water hence mobile got liquid damage...still my mobile is working but i facing touch screen problem and application stop frequently. I expect only refurbish my mobile not replacement because it is in warranty period.

You have to contact your local Xperia Care and request a vacuum test.

My Z3 Compact also stopped working after taking it with me in a swimming pool for the first time.

I double-checked the covers, stayed below 1,5m and 30 minutes but it didn't help.

I sent it in for warranty a week ago, hoping to hear something in the next days...

Got a new phone today. It was replaced within the warranty.

My thanks to Sony for the smooth handling I was already afraid they might accuse me of having caused the damage by myself or something like that.

The phone is sold as an IP65/68 rated device. Which means under warranty it should be able to withstand showers and 1meter of water for 30 mins. I have allot of experience with IP ratings with my job (this is the reason I got these phones in the first place). I was on a call whilst it was raining and the phone cut out, never to be switched on again. I inspected my phone and found that some how water had gotten in to the simple card port of my device. A port that had only been opened once to place the simcard. I charge to unit using the magnetic charging dock. I found out that because that the water damage indicators hd turned pink it ment that the device was no longer under warranty. I would like an explanation. How can you market/ sell a device on the premise that it is IP65/68 rated when it is clearly not?

Well I don't understand why so many people will complain and one person will uphold the product otherwise, something fishy here, and yaa all of these people bought non-genuine products and complaining here just for fun
