Cannot send multiple SMS on Xperia X10

Please help: How do I send multiple SMS to my contacts on Xperia X10? First of all it doesn't give a dropdown list of my contacts So I manually input by selecting the first letter of my contacts names. Only limits it to several, i'd say about 10/12 people. Then when I send the message, in the notification I get a message saying sms failed. Only 2 people seem to recieve the actual SMS. This is really frustrating. Please help.

After you've inserted the first contact in the To bar,  just tap the bar again start typing the name and select the next contact and so on, all the contacts that you wish to sms should then be listed and just hit send.

Hi Thank you for your answer, not exactly what I was looking for. My 1st problem is the messages fail when I try send to multiple contacts.

secondly I have doen what you asked me to and thast the only way to select multiple contacts in sms which is a bit silly since you have to rememebr who you want to send to from the top of your head. Surprised sony ericsson couldn't have included the "normal" simple contact mu;ti select option. Might have to use another app for messaging. But still don't know why my multi sms's fail to reach more than 2 people!

You could try using an app like Handcent SMS to send multiple SMS'. I haven't tried this before on the stock messaging app or on Handcent but I believe you can do it on Handcent as you seem to be able to do just about anything SMS related with it (it's replaced my stock messaging app). Anyway, check it out for yourself (it's free) and see if it works for you.

Hi Thanx for your reply, yes I eventually downlaoded Handcent sms and i'm glad I did. Af6etr setting it up works great. Shame Sony ericsson coudln't get a basic thing like sms right!

how do you set up handcent sms to send multiple messages

After you have downloaded Handcent SMS, you can select it in your menu. Then go to compose and in the To section enter 07 and all your contacts are displayed. Select the first person and then press 07 again and you can choose the next person and so on until you are ready to compose your message.
