Hello, I'm using xperia mini pro sk17i for almost 1 year now, a few days ago I can use my front camera just fine. Note that I never update my phone to ICS, still using the original android 2.3.4. But today, I was thinking to play with my camera, the option to switch to front camera is nowhere to be found.
And here is my screeshot when I switch to camera :
I've been try searching around, and non of it solve my problem. So I try donwload an apps that use front camera from google play, and when I open the apps it said "front-facing camera not found. Using Back-facing camera instead.".
Seems like there might be some software issue then, if no apps can detect the front camera. Try resetting the phone software, it should do the trick if it's a software issue.
Thanks, btw can you help explain how to reset the phone software and should I backup all my data ? If so, how to backup it actually ? And so this have nothing to do with the hardware ?
Naturally. Yes, you should back up the data you want to save. Photos and media are generally saved to your memory card so it shouldn't be deleted by a reset. If you have your contacts/calendar synchronized to your Google account they are also saved online and there's no need to back them up.
There are a lot of different backup software on Google Play, for example MyBackup which I've used myself.
To reset the phone you open up Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset. Do not check the box for erase SD-card if you wish to save this data.
Dude, the factory reset does not help, it just make me need to restore contact, message and apps..
Well, in that case you unfortunately have to send in the phone to a service center, since there isn't much you can do by yourself.
