Sup, folks.
I have an X8 with the 2.1.1.A.0.6 version running. It's not rooted or anything.
I got the fone 1 week ago, and on the first day i tested the camera, which worked just fine.
But 3 or 4 days later, the camera suddenly stopped working.
When i open any camera app, and i really mean any, the display shows me a blurry, wrong colored image, and when i press the button to take the picture, the shutter sound sounds, the display turns black, the app freezes and the picture is not saved.
I have repaired the update several times, through PC Companion and Service Update, but nothing helps.
I have tried everything, even the service test for the camera, but nothing helps.
I don't know if it's got something to do with the lighting sensor on the upper front part of the phone or if the camera hardware is just screwed.
I'm taking the phone to the repair service, but just wanted to try something else before.
Thanks everyone for the help.
If you say you tried reinstalling firmware with no luck, I guess it's hardware failure.
I would recommend to bring it to service center. With you problem, it won't be hard for service crew to figure out your case.
Last final steps before you go to service center.
Backup your data first...
then...
Do the SETTING RESET
go to SETTINGS
tap PRIVACY
tap SETTING RESET
then check the camera again. If didn't work...
Use Sony Ericsson Update Service (NOT PCCompanion), to reinstall the firmware. (Clean install)
Don't restore any data or settings at this stage
Use your camera and check.
If still mess up.. time for you to bring it to Service Center
Actually, i've done all that. And it never worked again.
Weirdest thing is the camera worked once, on the first day.
Thanks for the replies.
No prob.. so the only and last option left is to send it to service center. This is indeed a Hardware failure and this forum won't be able to fixed it. The only thing I can do now is to wish you luck
