Another major update, BUT NOT 2.1!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today

I tried updating my phone through the phone internet service, it came up with a message saying "must update through a computer".  I was thinking...  wow, this must be the 2.1 firmware update.  Only a huge update like that will require going through the computer SEUS.

So, I did.  After 10 minutes.  I so so excited and turned on my phone.  Checked the About the phone for the version.  IT IS STILL 1.6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what's the point of this update if 2.1 update is coming out soon (or suppose to be now)??

now my phone says

1.6 firmware

1.1.13 baseband

2.6.29 Kernel version

R2BA026 Build number

does that mean anything to you guys?  what's improved on this update?

well.... just hang in there for another week or so. you should be able to get 2.1 very soon.

Same deal here - although I'm still on the R2BA020 update. As far as I could see my update only got me the Creatouch app (uninstallable and not really wanted) and a couple of library updates.

And I was sooo looking forward to reporting that I'd finally been able to tap into some 2.1 goodness (I feel like a kid waiting for Santa Claus) :'(

First, this is the discussion area for X10 phones, although that said, I'm not sure where you guys are supposed to ask - there doesn't seem to be an area for the older phones. Secondly, have you tried deinstalling and downloading a new copy from the PC Suite. My daughter has a T715 phone and had sync problems (on Windows 7) and updating the PC Suite software solved the issue.

I certainly hope it is not Santa who's going to drop the update! That would mean at the end of December!!!
