Android software upgrade??

The peria X10 mini pro has the firmware version Donut (v 1.6) while newer versions like Eclair (v 2.1) and Froyo (v 2.2) have already been released and the other manufacturers have already used them in the phones. Android systems is ready to release the next version of the OS: Gingerbread (v 3.0) while we still use the crappy 1.6 base version.

When will the software upgrade to atleast 2.1 or 2.2 be available for the X10 mini pro users?

Update to 2.1 is now available in India. Just updated my phone. Yet have to check the pros and cons of it.

Good work SE with the software but lousy with the kit distribution.

@AS:I am in Mumbai..but i think its out all across India. And I dont think SE phones are branded over here!!!

iam in chennai and using xperia mini,i didnt get any update notification.

i tried using pc companion too,it sasy iam in latest version,but it shows onlt 1.6

Hey, I haven't got it yet. Will let you'll know when i do, but just out of curiosity, what did u guys do to get it..? Checked for updates or it just randomly came to ur phones..?

And what is the message that you'l got? I bought my phone from the sony store, no early update for me:smileywink:..? lol..:smileysad:. Anyway, let me know what you guys got as a msg or as a notification and which network you guys use. Cause it apparantly is network dependant cause the notification comes through the network i guess..(i'm not talking bout carries like they have in the US with contracts n all..)

Are you from INDIA? Are you using Xperia X10 Mini Pro? If yes then go to Settings> About Phone and click update. This must give you a notification of an available update. You must be connected to internet from your phone.

Yup....!! Got it... I just had to check for the update... My bad.. Updating now... :smileygrin: (crossing my fingers)

is anyone else having trouble passing the second step for the upgrade to 2.1 through the companion, its just messing me about saying the phone is'nt connected after i connct the usb while holding the back button! any help would be great. i have been following the instructions as they are said! thanks

hi all...anyone have any information abt the update release for Xperia mini in Uniter Arab Emirates...and is it possible for me update it if i go to india...as i am travelling to india on 12th of this month...so will i be able to update my fone in india when update is available there.
