When X10 will Adobe Flash payer support....?????
I cant use flash files in browser...
Well said, if I've bought the phone then it is mine and I am not renting it, right. So I would decide what to do. Then about warranty I just say it is due with HW failure only, despite what SE may declare since manufacture politics not always, or never, are in line with local law regulation that will finally decide....
But that's how SE uses it to scare off those who wants to experiment with XDA customized ROM.. just want to give them some tips
Yeah, im using my x10 (primarily) for business, I aint ready to use it as harcore guinnea pig. Maybe if I have lots of time in my hand, I would. I wish XDA ROM reaches the stable stage (without major revision) then I'll jump to it.
This is really bad....
I am using X10i....
Q: Are you working on Android 2.2 or Android 2.3 for the 2010 products.
A: No – as explained earlier we currently don’t plan to upgrade the 2010 products to Android versions beyond 2.1
and this was found in http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2011/02/25/questions-and-answers-from-mwc2011/
you can always run a ROM or wait for SE to release the ARC and maybe someone will be able to mod for the X10
is ARC Andriod 2.3 rom can be used in X10 ???
can you give me link for Rom ( Andriod 2.2) for X10i which is without any bugs.
is not the ARC firmware, its a 2.3 ROM
http://talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/12235
2.3 is still work in progress so not a lot of things are working properly

If you decide on doing these processes please note this can void your warranty with SE and / or your service provider so if you do it you do it knowing this.
Thread updated as of 22:00 25th February 2011
If you want to continue I would suggest that you first Root your current version so that you can back up your apps and data properly, you can root your current rom using the flashtool as detailed below under Rooting.
Download from the market Titanium Backup or MyBackup Root, personally I prefer Titanium Backup.
Once you have done this and backed up all the data then flash your phone reinstall this app or download again from the market and restore all your apps and phone data using it.
These are pre-rooted roms so you dont have to do the rooting process again.
You can return to stock SE rom at any time, simply download and run SEUS form the Sony Ericcson website, run it, connect your phone in Flash mode and perform the Install / Repair option.
Before You Start Phone Settings
On your phone check to see that Unknown Sources and USB Debugging options are ticked
Settings>Applications and tick Unknown Sources (some providers block this option if they have it isn't that important at this stage)
Settings>Applications>Development and tick USB Debugging
Download FlashTool version 0.2.6 :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
1. Extract the contents of the Flashtool zip / rar file you downloaded to your PC, create a folder called Flashtool and put it in there.
2. Open the folder and click the x10flashtool application (not the file) to start the program, a new window will appear called SonyEricsson x10 Flasher by Bin4ry & Androxyde, they developed this tool and deserve all the credit.
Rooting.
Rooting with Flashtool
This flashtool will root the latest baseband version of the SE rom.
1. Connect the phone to your PC via the USB Cable DO NOT mount the SD Card but you must have USB Debugging enabled (Settings>Applications>Development and tick USB Debugging)
2. Click Root in the x10flashtool window and let the process run until it tells you it is done then disconnect the phone and let it boot.
3. Now go to your main menu you should have a new icon called SuperUser, if you have it worked.
4, You now have a rooted phone that's it.
Flashing
Flashing with Flashtool
This will remove all data and apps so make sure you have backed I suggest by rooting first and using a quality app like Titanium Backup also backup contacts to the SD Card using the phonebooks own backup option.
Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your phone then turn it off.
1. Download the 2.1 version you want from the same link as Flashtool, the ones ending .435 are the latest versions.
2. Unpack the file from the downloaded zip and place the contents into the Flashtool Firmwares folder, there should only be the file or files downloaded no other files or sub folders.
3. From the Flashtool folder click the x10flasher Application
4. When the Flashtool window pops up click Flash then OK, wait a minute until you are told to connect your phone in flash mode as detailed on the screen
5. Once the phone connects the process will begin, when it finishes (takes a few minutes depending on your PC and data cable), unplug you phone when told to do so and reboot
6. That's it done, at first boot it will be a little slow and laggy but after a while it will be fine.
Install your backup app (Titanium Backup) and then use that to restore all you apps, then will be listed at the bottom, greyed out with a strike through, just tap it and restore app and data. Also restore all contacts from your phonebooks backup
Xrecovery
Installing Xrecovery
This will only work on rooted phones
Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your phone then connect you phone to you PC
1. Start x10flasher from the Flashtool folder
2. Click Ask Root Perms
3. On your phone check to see if it is asking you to allow access if it is tap yes
4. Click Advanced on the x10flasher menu bar
5. Click Install xrecovery (Root Needed)
6. When it's finished disconnect the phone.
Xrecovery is more detailed two posts down
Custom roms
Installing custom roms using Xrecovery
Custom roms are built around specific Basebands so make sure your baseband matches the one the dev states is required otherwise it won't work and you could get stuck in a boot loop
First connect your phone to you PC and create a folder on your SD Card where you will put Custom roms for installation. When the phone connects open it in file manager right click in the window, click New and Folder (just like you do on your PC when you create a folder) and create a folder on your phones SD Card
When using xrecovery menu you uses the Volume button to scroll up and down the menu, theHome button to select and option and the Back button to go back.
I will use this 2,2 Custom rom for this guide as it's the one I use and runs on the latest .5x baseband.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900441&highlight=wifi
1. Download the custom rom from the xda site, read the instructions on the xda site relating to specific installing instructions the that rom
2, Once downloaded, (if the dev says you need to unpack it after download do so) plug your phone into your PC and Mount the SD Card
3. Copy the downloaded files to your SD Card, they must be ZIP files.
4. Unmount the SD Card and unplug your phone from your PC, then reboot the phone into Xrecovery
As soon as the white Sony Ericsson text logo appears on the phone press the back button a few times and wait for it to boot into Xrecovery
4. Backup your current rom first using xrecovery Backup and Restore
5. Once backup up select Factory Reset (Full Wipe)
6. Next go to Advance and Clear Dalvik Cache and Clear Battery then exit back to teh main menu
7. Select install custom zip, Install from SD card, scroll to the folder where you put the rom and select the rom zip file (you must install the rom zip first) in this case it would be the Freex10_Beta4_zip
8. Once it has installed reboot the phone and leave it for a couple of minutes, it will reboot once once or twice itself so be patient with it on first use this is common.
9. When stable reboot the phone and access xrecovery again, follow the step at number 7. this time select the gaaps_Freex10_zip file and install, once installed reboot the phone and leave to settle down for a few minutes.
10. Once it has settled down, turn off the phone and leave for a few minutes then turn on and let it boot normally.
That's it done and you have 2.2 rom on your x10i, reinstall Titanium Backup (or whichever app you used to bicep apps), restore your apps and data, go to your phonebook and restore your Contacts as mentioned previously.
If you do not have 3g / H go to Settings>Wireless and Networks>Mobile Network Settings>Access Points and tap the grey circle next to your provider so its centre turns green then exit to the main menu, it is best to reboot the phone after doing this but it's up to you.
Cyanogen CM7 RC1
Installing CM7 for those that are keen to try it, remember it's in development and there are a few things not working (Camera as normal as this is always one of the last things to get working as it's not important in developing a stable rom), check the thread for issues but remember not everyone installs these roms correctly so complain about them not working when actually they have not followed the correct process.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911364
1. Download and unpack the rom Release Candidate Cyanogen CM7.0 RC1 v002 not v003
2. Inside are 3 zip files these need to be copied to your phone for installing
3. Also inside are 3 folders that contain additional files these don't need to be copied these remain on your PC, the main one you need is theBaseband_4x folder this folder has the required x10i baseband.
If you have x10a would suggest you check the link here and download then install you compatible baseband then continue but flashing your specific baseband, this should prevent boot loops.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960527 then run the flash tool as in step 4 but will be a different folder name.
4. Open the Baseband_4x folder and click the x10flash bat file (it's the 2kb one), when the CMD window opens enter the number the matches your PC's OS and press Return.
5. Connect in flash mode (turn off phone, press and hold back key whist inserting the USB) as soon as the green light appears release the back key and press the Return key on your computer keyboard and let it run.
6. When the install has finished and your are told to press any key to continue do so and then disconnect the phone and boot into xrecovery.
7. Locate the zip files you put onto your phone using Custom Install and select the update_cm002.zip, let it install then reboot the phone into normalmode.
Skip the setup process and go to settings to set up 3g, Unknown Sources and check USB debugging is enabled.
3g - Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names and tap the circle next to your operator
Next Settings>Applications (tap Unknown Sources) tap Development and check USB Debugging.
Now reboot the phone into xrecovery
8. Locate the remaining two zip files and install 1 - OtherIME followed by 2 - LiveWallpaper for those that are testing 3 - Data2sd install that last then
DO NOT restore data from 2.2 roms using xrecovery you need to set the phone up manually and restore apps and data from Titanium Backup or similar app

Question and Answer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=745
Remember if you want to use custom roms make sure you read the details on the thread you are downloading from so you know what baseband is required and what the actual process is for installing that rom,
They are not all the same.
Couple of example of other roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945264 rom requires .5x baseband
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936023 rom requires .4x baseband
Please note that you do this at your own risk, it does work unless you do something wrong, it is here for those that want to try it, you're not being forced into it.
If you find any bugs check the site you downloaded the rom from for answers, don't just post on the thread look there first and check teh Q&A link as well.
the video recording feature its not working and the wifi its not reliable
