3G help

Hi all,

Is anybody experiencing the same problem and may have a possible solution? I upgraded my Xperia X10 two weeks ago and its working good. The only problem i have is i can't access a 3G network anymore. All the places i used to be able to get 3G reception when i was running 1.6 no longer work. I get G, E and H networks which are all really slow. Anybody else experienced this or am i just lucky??

That is not something common. Please try repairing the phone from the repair feature on your PC Companion so that it installs the 2.1 again and fix the inconvenience you are getting.

Does the E not stand for Edge and H for something I have forgotten but which is 3.5G or something that is meant to be somewhat faster than 3G...?  I tried to check in the online manual, but it doesn;t seem to exist now, but i was pretty sure that the H at least was a good thing and that it happened automatically when the signals werre good enough for it. I might be wrong, so ready to stand corrected if so...

You are correct, sushi, about E and H. H is 3.5G and it is faster than 3G. After the update, I have been getting switches between 3G and H a lot and have only noticed a slight change in speed. H is HSPA which stands for High Speed Packet Access and as was said already is faster than 3G. The only times I've seen E or even G were when I was in areas with bad reception, other than that 3G or H the whole time. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help everyone! Get H most of the time unless in bad reception where its a G. Just wasn't sure what it meant and the phone guide didn't say anything about H.
