My XA2 won't turn back on.

My XA2 won't turn back on.

I woke up this morning to my phone not responding to the unlock button or my finger print, the charging LED was still lit at this point.

I then tried holding in the power button and volume up button to try and reboot it, I then felt a slight vibration from the handset and the charging LED went out.

I've been trying all the things on the internet to turn it back on but nothing seems to be working.

Could someone possibly be able to help me out with turning my phone back on?

Have you tried what's here? https://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaxa2/faq/i-cannot-power-on-my-device/

Try the 3 vibrations procedure or the 2 minutes one (also remove the sd card, if any).

@roadrunner76

whats the three vibration procedure?

Ive tried the 2minute one a few times and nothing at all, it's as if the phone is completely dead and the battery isn't working.

It might be in a frozen state? Try doing a soft reset - holding the power button and (i think) volume down button for 10-15 seconds.... if not it is the volume up button instead!

@annoimush

I've tried both the volume down button and volume up button and still no joys. I phoned up Sony direct and they told me to download the Xperia Companion. Due to being at work i cant do this yet so i need to do this when i get home later.

Any other hints and tips would be greatly appreciated.

They are telling you to factory reset your phone essentially.

The only other thing I can think of is that you said about removing the SD card (or not being able to)... but removing the SIM card normally triggers a reboot.. although you will need a needle/pin.

I am still assuming that the phone is actually on but has locked up. If possible, try doing everything whilst connected to a charger... if the phone is in this state they typically drain their battery very fast, so is worth removing that factor!

no the phone is off, it won't turn on and when i plug in the charger the LED that lights up won't light up.

Ah....

Thats a bit more dead than I thought it was.

In that case, if nothing happens when you plug the device into any computer (even without the sony software) - then im concerned that there has been a hardware failure/issue/something got fried.

If a computer can detect your phone it should be ok after a factory reset.

@annoimush

yeah i sort of thought that, i've been in contact with Sony themselves and not much help and only suggested everything everyone has said or ive found on the internet.

so i've ordered to send the phone but to them to get repaired after only 4 months, that really shouldn't be happening especially when the phones not even 6months old.

seriously gutted and considering changing my phone already.
