How do I run Google Cardboard OR AN EQUIVILANT VR app  on my Experia XA1

NYTVR gives me the option to do binocular watching on my Sony Z3... but not on the XA1

WHY?

It can't be done, since the XA1 doesn't have a gyroscope

I understand the frustration BUT why would you feel cheated, is like if you buy a laptop without checking the computer specs and then complaining that it doesn't have certain features.
