reset the device

I have a xperia tablet z wifi.
I forgot my pattern lock.
And now I want to reset the device.
But I can not.
I press and hold volume + and power button.
But nothing happens.

If you download and install Update Service to your PC you will get instructions how to perform a software repair. You can find SUS at the following link:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

Make sure that your Tablet Z is powered OFF. Start Update Service and accept the license agreement > Press Start > Choose your unit (Tablet Z or Tablet Z Wi-Fi) > Press Next > Hold the volume down(-) button on your Tablet Z while connecting it to your PC and do not release the button until Update Service gives you further instructions.
