Remote control small app not working anymore

After the latest Android update of my Tablet Z the small app remote control is not starting anymore. When I press the remote control icon I see for short time a small window but after two secs the window disappears and a pop up with following message appears: Unfortunately, Remote control has stopped. 

What can I do? 

Who can tell me how to update or reinstall the small app?

Which android version and build number do you have on your Xperia Z? 

does it work properly on safe mode ?

Android Version: 5.1.1

Build: 10.7.A.0.222

Same failure happens in Safe Mode.

You could repair the phone with PCC but I'm not sure if that's something you are willing to do for that app

I have now PCC installed and my Tablet connected to PCC but what should I do now?

I also don't know  how Backup should help. 

How can I reinstall small apps?

Run PCC > support zone > repair

you can also try this before PCC: settings > apps > all > look for the small apps > clear data > uninstall updates > restart the phone > check again
