WH-1000XM3 clicking noise On Public Transport

WH-1000XM3 clicking noise On Public Transport

I have had a pair of WH-1000XM3‘s for just over one month and have found that while using them on public transport (bus/train) the earcups creat a clicking noise when going over bumps in the road or when doors shut. This issue has been identified on the US Sony site (though no open response has been provided) and on reddit. At £329, these headphones should not have this issue.

Does the UK Sony site offer assistance like their American counterparts?

Does anyone know if this issue can be fixed?

cheers

Hi Leftover_craic

Judging by the scenarios in which you mentioned the clicking happens, I'd say it's somewhat normal.

Noise cancelling works partly in a predictive way to produce the inverse signals that are output through each side to achieve the effect. Sudden changes in pressure can result in such clicks.

I found this article which sheds more light on how NC works: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00203389
