Hi,

The instructions for these headphones say to charge through a laptop but if I am away from home, can I charge them using a mains adaptor?

Hello and welcome. 

I often use my mobile phone charger to charge many of the products that I travel with. If you take my advice it would be at your own risk.

The other option would be to purchase a travel charger that matches the power input ratings of your headphones.
