XL 301 DVD sound issue

Hi All, Got my 301 a couple of weeks ago and couldn't understand how all you guy's were having so many problems with your toy's, that was right upto the moment mine started playing up. I have had no probs with my HDMI as it worked OK from day one as did my DVD but now when I play a DVD I get no sound, I do get it if I run it through my amp via SPDI|F but my Pioneer has a good speaker system so I don't need the amp on unless i'm playing back DTS I have tried changing various settings but all have had no effect.....HELP

What codecs if any have you installed?

If the answer is none, then go it'll robably be either the SigmaTel playing up oy media centre (if you play the dvds thru that). Check the sound settings in control panel.

If you have a od poneer ampjstuse the SPDIF to pass the sound over as surely the HDMI is passing the 5.1 sound to your tv which i presume outputs it as 2.0 stereo
